August Strindberg (Playwright) is the author of Miss Julie (1888, the same year as Creditors), The Dance of Death (1900) A Dream Play (1902), The Ghost Sonata (1907), and many other plays, novels, and essays. Born in Stockholm in 1849, he was eventually recognized as Sweden’s leading writer and is widely considered one of the most influential playwrights of the period. His works were often considered inappropriate for the culture of the time when they first appeared; a prosecution for blasphemy over his first published book of short stories led to an acquittal, and censors attempted to shut down the premiere of Miss Julie. He died in 1912 following a tumultuous life that included three short-lived marriages, a complete psychological breakdown, and a religious conversion.

David Greig (Adaptor) Born in Scotland in 1969, is the Artistic Director and joint Chief Executive of the Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh. A prolific playwright, translator, and adaptor, Greig is also a celebrated director; his work has been produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theater of Scotland, Donmar Warehouse, and the Royal Court among many others.

Rebecca Dines* (Tekla) was last seen at the Aurora in Mud Blue Sky. Recent credits include The Ladies Foursome (B Street Theatre) and Stupid F**king Bird (Capital Stage Company).  Favorite roles include Ruth in Aurora Theatre Company’s award-winning The Homecoming, Alexa Vere de Vere in As Bees In Honey Drown at TheatreWorks and Margie Walsh in Good People most recently for American Stage Company in Florida. She has appeared for Berkeley, San Jose, South Coast and Kansas City Repertory Theatres, Magic and Marin Theatres and The Laguna Playhouse, amongst others. (rebeccadines.com)

Joseph Patrick O’Malley* (Adolph) returns to the Aurora, having appeared last year in A Number by Caryl Churchill. Most recently seen in War of the Roses at Cal Shakes (TBA award nomination), he has also performed at Center REP (The Liar), Marin Theatre Co. (Ms. Bennett: Christmas at Pemberly, Charlotte’s Web) Shotgun Players (Mrs. Warren’s Profession) and with Bay Area Playground.  Regionally, at The Kennedy Center, The Guthrie Theatre and La Jolla Playhouse. His short film “brief.” premiered at the Napa Valley Film Festival ‘17 and was awarded “Best Short Film” at CENTFLO ‘18. Joseph holds an MFA from USC and graduated from Santa Clara University. 

Jonathan Rhys Williams* (Gustav) recently played Coriolanus at Pacific Repertory Theatre in Carmel and Frank Cambers in The Postman Always Rings Twice at San Jose Stage Company. Other roles for Aurora Theatre Company: Camille in Therese Requine, and Lenny in The Homecoming (winner Best Supporting Actor, Bay Area Theater Critics Circle Award - 2000). Other Bay Area credits include San Jose Stage, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, American Musical Theatre, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Tahoe Shakespeare Festival and others. In 2002, Jonathan co-founded Capital Stage Company which continues to serve the Greater Sacramento Area to this day.  During his 15 years with the organization he served in various capacities including directing several rolling world premieres, taking on a score of acting roles, and designing sets, lights or sound for more than 50 productions.
